ISS Composite Manufacturing Payload

As a Payload Engineering Intern on the DARPA NOM4D program, I designed and integrated 50+ unique payload components alongside NASA JPL and Voyager engineers, investigating the feasibility of in-orbit manufacturing of new composite materials aboard the International Space Station.

Captive-Fastener Assembly

Engineered a captive-fastener assembly that stays attached to its panel when unscrewed, improving astronaut accessibility and simplifying payload assembly during mission operations — no floating hardware in microgravity.

Airlock Interface Panel

Designed the interface panel used to attach the payload to the ISS airlock, coordinating fit and function directly with NASA JPL and Voyager engineers.

Silicone Collet Testing

Developed and ran accelerated stress-relaxation testing on a silicone collet, validating less than 1% dimensional change over a projected 5-month mission duration within 3 weeks of testing.

Bond Validation

Executed shear testing on silicone-to-aluminum bonds, validating joint strength requirements for the longeron shell extrusion process.
